Lucky Me
It's my lucky day. I was accompanying some friends over to a local camera store that shall remain nameless. Adorama was closed for a holiday. These friends were in the throws of the Canon vs Nikon debate and several salesfolk got involved. I lamented the fact that there were no D200 bodies around when the owner slipped that he had just gotten two in. I pulled out my card and now one is mine. No wait-list whatsoever, just plain lucky.
Take pictures.

Good for you!!! You were due some luck after all the stuff that has happened lately!!!
I spoke to Mike at Fotocare the other day and he had just gotten 2 in.....hmmmmm. I'm still on the list.
Wish me luck, too!
Cut off a little piece of an 87 IR filter and scotch tape it to the lens of the D200 popup flash, then under custom E3, set the "built in" Mode to "--" which turns the flash output off, but enables it to send preflash ttl instructions to your SB800 whenit's set in remote mode on the same channel. No cord no more. The cool thing is the infrared filter keeps even the preflash from getting out. If you want no flash, just push down the popup and the SB800 stays mute. Thanks for all the inspiration, I think you'll like this little trick... t
