Zack Snyder

I'm so very excited for my friend Zack's film to open nationwide on March 9th. He directed 300 and more than likely you've seen an ad or two promoting it. Just yesterday I saw a few bus shelters urging me to "Prepare for Glory".

Last night in Berlin the film had its world premier and when the credits rolled there was a standing ovation. Yes!

I made this shot of Zack in Argentina because he and his wife Deborah needed shots for some Warner Brothers promotional thing. We scooted outside the hotel, found some reasonable light and a neutral enough background and made some photos. About five minutes ago I messed with it in Photoshop to turn it black and white and uploaded it to flickr. That's that.

Make pictures, go see 300.

he and his wife are the real duo. i am simply a friend. incidentally, he's quite a photographer. he brings a beautiful old polaroid with him everywhere and makes the most beautiful, haunting images with terrific consistency. it's inspiring stuff.

I've seen 300 and it kicks ass like there's no tomorrow. Really an awesome assault on the senses. Not surprised to read Zack's a great photographer too. He has such a tremendous eye for detail. Here's to hoping this film will rake in the millions it deserves at the box office, come march 9th. If 300 does well, Zack will get the financial backing he needs to faithfully bring Watchmen to life. And man, am I looking forward to that!

Steven with the inside scoop...

Good stuff. Thanks for sharing it here. Hollywood can be a fickle friend but we all have high hopes for the Snyders.

As soon as I saw the image it was obvious there was a connection to the photographer, it just seems so effortlessly intimate on some level.

Haven't seen the film yet but I definitely looking forward to it.

Hi Clay,
you're lucky to have Zack as a friend - a very funny man. Thought you'd might be interested in my short interview I did with Zack at the Berlinale in Berlin.
Keep up the great photos and websites! Awesome!
Cheers from Berlin,
Torgen
