A Fantastic Listen

I was at the gym today and instead of listening to Tool or my normal fare I podcasted WNYC's On the Media during which they shared a fantastic piece about the ethics of portraiture in the context of journalism. It's well worth a listen.

My Book Cover

I knew it was happening obviously. But seeing my book listed on Amazon.com makes it more real than ever. Anyone who knows me and spoke to me during the filming of Watchmen knows how hard I worked and how exhausting the whole process was for me. This is really a treat to see.

The coffee table book is an odd goal for a photographer. I've been in pursuit of such a thing since I began the Streetstudio project with Steven Ghukfvin almost a decade ago. Now, with almost the flick of the wrist, the Watchman machine has made my dream come true.

Okay, so I won't see a dime from book sales. Let's be clear, I wouldn't have seen a dime on any first book. I'm not in Natasha Merritt territory. Just having one fall in your lap is bordering on priceless. I am always thankful and today, having just seen the Amazon listing, I'm downright giddy.

My work? Yup.

I took that photograph. Or at least I took the photograph that the photoshop wizards at Warner Brothers then took to new heights.

It's quite something to see my stuff transformed into movie posters. A guy could almost think he's good at this gig when an obviously far more talented group are waiting with their Wacom tablets to turn your dark, grainy snaps into commercial masterpieces.

Congrats to them, whoever they are. They make me look good. I am thankful.

Organic Coffee Cartel

Okay guys, I'm not just a photographer but I'm also a small fledgling business owner of the non-profit-inspired Organic Coffee Cartel. I've just opened my doors and could use your help.

More important than having you as a customer I need the word spread. I have no advertising budget so it's all word of mouth. If you have blog, add a post about my efforts, if you have coffee loving friends, let them know, etc. You know the deal. It's about getting the search engines' attention.

I really appreciate it.

Make pictures, spread the word of Good Deeds, Great Coffee.
