It wasn't a photogenic event from the middle of the mall but I knew I could eek out something later. I had a vision and it went something like this shot. Yes, it's cropped. Yes, it's photoshopped. That's the vision I had. Never say never.

As for the event, it was cold and lovely. The jumbotrons were out of sync by four seconds, crowd management was terrible and despite all that, I wouldn't have been anywhere else but the National Mall that day.

Make pictures. Be there.

I'm just checking out your Photo Blog for the 1st time and it's a neat little site.

I was there myself on Inauguration Day (I live in DC) and while my friends, co-workers and myself were freezing horribly, a little baffled by the audio/video delay, and had to deal with the horrible navigation and transit set up (Went to 2 Metro Stations, Both closed) ...the 4 of us would not have wanted to be anywhere else on that day.

For the matter, The 2 things that led me here are 1: to show some youth I'm currently teaching Photography, what different, Photo-driven blogs look like. And 2: Watchmen :D

I have the Portraits book on Pre-order via Amazon and the images that have come out officially look absolutely gorgeous. Can't wait to receive and look through it's pages with my own eyes.

Wow, that's fantastic. I certainly may do so once I pass the idea back to my supervisor/co-teacher. I should add, the fact you got a photograph like that in the sea of people that day, is pretty amazing, Photoshop or not. Thank you, Mr. Enos.
