PDN, Avedon and Me.
I am proud to share this story from PDN that tells some of the back-story of my book. I love the fact that I don't see a dime from sales is in there. Enjoy.

Congrats, my man. Definitely gonna pick this up. Have fun at Comic Con!
I just stumbled onto your blog site and got hooked by your work. I definitely enjoy your personal photography you post of your travels around the world. Upon reading your experiences with the making of the Watchmen book, I'm quite excited and happy to see that your work is getting some recognition!
Although, the only thing I didn't seem to agree with is that WB has to stiff you on royalties for your book. I saw it at a bookstore this week and I have to say, the thing that makes that book stand out to me is your vision of each subject you focus on.
I don't feel like I'm looking at 'Watchmen.' Rather, I am seeing a story within these subject's eyes and their body languages in that frame. It's fascinating and beautiful work. It's a shame WB is stiffing you on royalties for it and you deserve it!
I want to pick it up to support you but I think I will hold back because I know you're not getting anything other then your name out there. I'd rather support your coffee endeavors since you at least will see some money in your account for that!
StunkK, WB isn't stiffing me. It's okay. This book is a treat to have as my publishing debut. If you wait to buy it through clayenos.com after tuesday i think i'll be able to make a dollar via amazon. lol. that's better than nothing.
buy all the coffee your heart desires. at least then i get to funnel the money to charity.
That sounds good to me! I like to support my fellow artist! I'll be looking out for it then on your site!
As for the coffee, I'll definitely do what I can to help push for your coffee!
The work is beautiful; the business arrangement sounds horrible. It's one thing to make no money off a personal project, done for the self, but to make no money of a project of this scale seems near criminal. Not sure what to think here.
Sincerely,
Someone else trying to make a living as a photog,
Troy Freund
